  • Good Food Box Program

Save money and help the environment – Shop at Manor Road United for your Produce
We have started a Good Food Box program at MRUC, which is a community-based food distribution system run by FoodShare Ontario. FoodShare buys food at wholesale prices directly from local farmers and the Ontario Food Terminal, and then volunteers pack the produce into individual boxes, sell them at a reduced cost, and deliver them through a neighbourhood drop-off system.
The principles behind the program include:
  • Promoting health and food skills education
  • Supporting local farmers and contributing to the local economy
  • Making the program accessible to anyone without restrictions
  • Selling only high quality produce
  • Promoting the use of seasonal fruits and vegetables
  • Developing community and volunteer support
The boxes are kept affordable and vary in size and content so that anyone can buy a box. Six different boxes are available, ranging in price from $13 to $34. You can order as often as you want, one time or multiple times. Pick up a flyer at the church to see examples of what each box provides, or we can email one to you on request. Delivery dates are every second Wednesday with payment due 10 days earlier. Your box will be delivered to Manor Road and the contents may be picked up anytime throughout the day or early evening. Please bring bags to transport your food home. Call the office (416-483-0695) with any questions, or email our coordinator at ellen.manorroad@rogers.com.
