Special Events
  • March Madness
One of our most popular community events is our annual March Madness, a fun-filled evening of great food, fellowship and entertainment by local talent both inside and outside our congregation. The 2007 version of March Madness was extremely successful, and fulfilled its promise of "a splendid time is guaranteed for all" by featuring music, dance, stand-up comedy and poetry. All are welcome to this event, which is usually staged on the first Friday in March.
  • Fall Fair
One of the most anticipated events at Manor Road is its annual Fall Fair, which is held on a Saturday in October. The Fall Fair is a browser’s delight and its stalls include: Jewellery, Bake Table (home baking & preserves), Country Cheese table, Linens, Green Table (plants, baskets, pots & containers), Book Table (books, CDs, records, tapes), Betty’s Attic (Christmas decorations and crafts, household items) and a Silent Auction.

If you are looking for hidden treasures visit our Galaxy of Treasures (china, crystal, glass, silver & pictures) on the lower floor. When you need a break visit our Church Café (lower floor) where you can purchase hot food, sandwiches, dessert, tea and coffee. For the children Face Painting is always a popular attraction.

  • Summer Barbeque and Entertainment
Who doesn't love a barbeque? We at Manor Road certainly do. On the first Friday in June Manor Road holds its annual Summer Barbeque. Tables are set up in the church’s upper hall, and guests fill their plates with succulent chicken, baked potatoes and cole slaw followed by pie and tea and coffee for dessert. After dinner, the entertainment begins and can encompass everything from square dancing to bingo. The Manor Road Summer Barbeque is great fun for the whole family and everyone in the community is invited to attend.
  • Rummage Sales
The UCW fundraises by holding two Rummage sales a year, in the Spring and Fall. Our next Rummage Sale will be held in the fall.  A variety of items are sold including jewellery, children's toys, clothing, books, CDs, tapes, kitchenware, household linens, small appliances in working order, furniture etc. Refreshments (homemade muffins, tea and coffee) can be purchased at our “snack bar”. Items not sold are picked up by the Scott Mission for  distribution.
  • Team Manor Walks in Support of Alzheimer Disease
The Alzheimer Walk is held every January, on the last Saturday of the month. Proceeds from the Walk go to help the Society lend assistance and support to Alzheimer patients and their families.  Each year, Manor Road puts together a team.  The walk is completely indoors and covers approximately 5 kilometres. All ages are welcome to join the team, or if you are not able to do the walk, why not sponsor a participant?
